ULTRAMAN

The story begins in the near future, as reported by mid-1960 (in episode 23, "My house is the Earth," is definitely established that the series takes place in early 1990, through a plaque displayed at the end of Episode dated 1993). Sinister aliens and giant monsters constantly threaten civilization during this period. The organization Earth only able to handle these disasters is the special research group of science, or SSSP, a special force of police forces around the world with high-tech weapons and vehicles, as well as the extensive scientific and engineering structures, this organization is called Science Patrol, or scientific research agency of the United Nations, in the English dubbed unions in the United States. The Patrol branch of science that focuses on the series is located in Tokyo, Japan. Led by Captain "Cap 'Toshio Muramatsu (shortened to" Captain Mura "in dubbed English version), the Science Patrol is always ready to protect the Earth from rampaging monsters, but sometimes it is outclassed. When the situation becomes desperate, Hayata Shin, a member longer Patrol, holds the key to salvation in the form of "Beta Capsule", which, when activated, allows him to transform secretly in the humanoid super-powered giant from space, becomes known to the people of Earth, as Ultraman.
Ultraman will remain until the threat is neutralized and then flies away to return to Hayata (this has been shown twice by Ultraman shoot a ring of energy from his hands flying to a safe place and then it would materialize Hayata energy vanishes as Ultraman away at the same time). Ultraman victory is never guaranteed, however, as Ultraman's powers-his very life force comes from rapidly depleted, stored solar energy. At the beginning of each transformation from Hayata-Ultraman-to, the "spy" on the chest of the giant begins as a set color blue. Yet as Ultraman exerts himself, the "Color Timer", as it is called, turns red, then flashes, first slowly, then with increasing rapidity, as its reserves of energy close to exhaustion. As the voiceover reminds the viewer, starting with Episode 2 and for each subsequent episode, if Ultraman ever reaches the point of exhaustion of the total energy, he "will never rise again."
In Episode 39, "Farewell, Ultraman," Ultraman fights an enemy called Zetton, leading an army of monsters bent on destroying all Ultra-Crusaders, which employs a weapon Ultraman-one against unexpected damage its color timer / lamp and disables its ability to measure its power. As a result, Ultraman remains in its size is too long and collapses in a dormant state. Fortunately, despite this loss, the members of the patrol of science are able to defeat Zetton on their own. When Zoffy, Ultraman's superior, is to retrieve the fallen hero, Ultraman pleads for Hayata's life and offers his life completely, so that Hayata may live as a normal man. Zoffy then says he brought two forces of life and give one to Hayata. It then separates, giving Hayata new life, but Hayata seems to have no memory of the time it collides with the first ship Ultraman (in the first episode), and its location off-site Science Patrol and Ultraman notes Zoffy take home. This is a finish to the series somewhat different than stated in the English dub, which says that Ultraman is back and that keeps her Hayata beta capsule while waiting for the return of Ultraman.

Kept secret from the masses, these individuals are known for the murder in cold blood, choking with emotion unnecessary logical and rational. Their incredible abilities, however, are acquired at the cost of their humanity Contractors are so called because of an involuntary impulse to "pay the price" whenever their power is used, which can range from eating special food and complete insignificant tasks, to self-harm and with their bodies changing in particular ways. Various nations and organizations around the world use Contractors as spies and assassins train, resulting in violent battles for valuables and information. The story revolves around a Chinese businessman, codename Hei as he engages in various missions of espionage and murder in Tokyo under the direction of the Syndicate of the above.

Treasure Planet

Prologue of the film depicts Jim Hawkins as three years (voiced by Austin Majors) reading a storybook to read. Jim is enchanted by the tales of the legendary pirate Captain Flint and his ability to appear from nowhere, raid passing ships, and disappear, to hide the loot on the mysterious "Treasure Planet". Twelve years later, Jim (now the voice of Joseph Gordon-Levitt) has become a distant and alienated teenager. He is shown begrudgingly helping his mother Sarah (Laurie Metcalf) run an inn and deriving amusement from "solar surfing" (a hybrid of skysurfing and windsurfing atop a board attached to a rocket powered by solar energy), a pastime he often gets him into trouble.
One day, a spaceship crashes near the inn. The pilot dies, Billy Bones (Patrick McGoohan), gives Jim a sphere and tells him to "beware the cyborg". Shortly after, a band of pirates plunder and burn the inn. Jim, his mother, and their dog-like friend Dr. Delbert Doppler (David Hyde Pierce) barely escape. The sphere turns out to be a holographic projector, showing a map that Jim realizes leads to Treasure Planet.
Doppler commissions a ship called the RLS Legacy, on a mission to find Treasure Planet. The ship is commanded by the cat-like, quick-witted Captain Amelia (Emma Thompson), together with his partner from the skin of stone and covered in the first place, Mr. Arrow (Roscoe Lee Browne). The crew is a diverse group, secretly led by cook John Silver (Brian Murray), who Jim suspects is the cyborg he was warned. Jim is sent to work in the kitchen, despite his mistrust of Silver, soon forming a tenuous relationship between father and son (a montage with the song "I'm Still Here" shows Jim and the bond cyborg on various sailing chores, interspersed with childhood flashbacks of Jim, during which his father appears indifferent to him, and finally leaves without warning when Jim is a pre-teen). During a meeting with a supernova, Silver falls in water but is rescued by Jim. The supernova then devolved into a black hole, where Arrow is adrift at sea and is lost, so Jim is criticized for failing to ensure the lines of life, while, in fact, Arrow has been cut by a crew member insectoid ruthless named Scroop (Michael Wincott).
As the ship reaches Treasure Planet, mutiny erupts, led by Silver. Jim, Doppler and Amelia abandon ship, leaving the map behind unintentionally. Silver, who believes that Jim has the map, has the opportunity to kill Jim, but refuses to do so because of his attachment to the boy. The escapees were shot down by a mutineer during their escape, causing injury to Amelia.
While exploring Treasure Planet Forests, the fugitives meet BEN (Martin Short), an abandoned robot extravagant claims to have lost much of his memory and invites them to his house to treat the wounded Amelia. The pirates corner the group here: using a back-door, Jim and BEN return to the ship in an attempt to retrieve the map. Scroop, aboard the ship as lookout, stalks and fights Jim. BEN, working to sabotage the ship's artillery, accidentally turns off the artificial gravity, after Jim and Scroop threaten to float in space. Jim takes the pole, while Scroop becomes entangled in the flag and cut free, while Scroop floats away, presumably to his death. Jim and B.E.N. obtain the map. On their return, they are captured by Silver, who has already captured Doppler and Amelia.
When Jim is forced to use the map, the group finds their way to a portal that can be opened anywhere in the universe, this being the means by which Flint conducted his raids. The treasure is at the center of the planet, accessible only via the portal. Treasure Planet is proving to be a large space station built by unknown architects and seconded by Flint. In light of the Treasury, Jim meets the skeletal remains of Flint itself, with a missing piece of computer cognitive Ben. Jim replaces this piece, causing B.E.N. to remember that the planet is about to explode at the time of the discovery of the treasure. In the ensuing catastrophe, Silver finds himself torn between holding on a literal boat load of gold and saving Jim, hanging from a cliff after a fall. Silver saves Jim, and the group escapes to the Legacy, which is corrupt and lacks the driving force necessary to leave the planet in time to escape. Jim attaches a rocket to a thin plate of metal and rides to the portal to open in a new location, while Doppler pilots the ship behind him. Jim manages to open the portal to his world of origin spaceport, through which all fleeing the destruction of Treasure Planet.
After the flight, Amelia has the surviving pirates imprisoned aboard the ship and offered to recommend Jim Interstellar Academy for his heroic actions. Silver sneaks below deck, where Jim finds him preparing his escape. Jim lets him go, inheriting Silver shape-changing pet called Morph (Dane A. Davis). Silver expected to Jim "to shake the stars", then throws a handful of jewels and gold he had taken from Treasure Planet to pay for the reconstruction of the inn. The film ends with a party at the rebuilt inn, showing Doppler and Amelia now married with children, and Jim a military cadet. He looks to the sky and sees the image of Silver in the clouds.

KERORO

Keroro Gunso is a manga series by Mine Yoshizaki. It 'was then serialized into a TV anime series directed by Junichi Sato. Both the anime and manga are comedies that follow the attempts of a platoon of frog like alien invaders to conquer Earth. Sergeant Keroro, the titular character, is the leader of the platoon, but it is at the mercy of a human family of three after being caught trying to hide in one of the bedrooms of family members. In both the manga and anime, Keroro is forced to do meaningless work and commissions for the family after his army abandons his platoon on Earth.
The series takes its comedy from a combination of wordplay (particularly puns and homophones), physical humor, the irony of the situation, breaking the fourth wall, and numerous pop culture references (especially to Gundam, Kamen Rider, Space Battleship Yamato, Dragon Ball, Neon Genesis Evangelion and many others). Various anime, games, manga, and other aspects of pop culture are parodied / reference for the whole series as a bonus to older viewers.
Both the manga and anime are laden with pop culture references, and also in the same story the references often vary wildly. The anime does not explicitly refer to Evangelion and other animations to which Bandai does not own the copyright, but only recreates the "feel" of famous scenes of these souls. The anime is much more detailed and direct in its Gundam references, however, since Bandai does not hold rights to the manga and anime Gundam franchise. Both attention to the steadily deteriorating conditions of the Keroro Platoon, a group of five to six feet height, frog as aliens from the planet Keron range of the planetary system. The platoon's mission is to invade and conquer Earth (aliens known as "Pekopon"), but fail miserably at each attempt. Sergeant Keroro, the leader of the platoon, is easily distracted, and would rather spend his time making plastic Gundam models invade Earth. Keroro Besides, there are four other members of the Keroro Platoon: innocent yet violent Private Second Class Tamama, warlike and serious, but careful Coporal Giroro, intelligent, but troublemaking Sergeant Major Kururu, and stealthy, but melancholy Lance Coporal Dororo.
The biggest obstacle in the way of their mission is the Hinata family, who must take care of the Keroro platoon had to desert the army Keron it on Earth. Keroro is kept busy with the abuse of manual labor and constant, primarily from the family daughter Natsumi. GARFIELD

In 1970, the comic artist Jim Davis, author of a strip, gnorm Mosquito, who met with mostly negative reviews. One editor said that "his art was good, his gags were great", but "no one can identify with bugs." Davis took his advice and created a new strip with a cat as a main character. The band originally consisted of four main characters. Garfield, owner's character, was based on the cats Davis was around growing up, he took his name and personality of Davis' grandfather, James A. Garfield Davis, who was in Davis' words, "an irascible great man." Jon Arbuckle came from a coffee business since 1950, and Odie is based on a commercial car dealership written by Jim Davis, who has featured Odie the village idiot. At first the owner of the strip Odie was a man named Lyman. It 'was written to give someone to talk to Jon. Davis later realized that Garfield and Jon could "communicate verbally". The strip was originally rejected by King Features Syndicate and Chicago Tribune, New York News, United Feature Syndicate, however, accepted in 1978. It debuted in 41 newspapers on June 19 of that year. In 1994, the company Davis', Paws, Inc., has purchased all rights to the strips from 1978 to 1993 by United Feature. The strip is currently distributed by Universal Press Syndicate, the strip while the rights remain with their paws.
The appearance of the characters gradually changed time. The left panel is taken from a 1980 strip, right by a strip 1990.
Garfield quickly became a commercial success. In 1981, less than three years since its release, the strip appeared in 850 newspapers and accumulated over $ 15 million in merchandise. To handle the merchandise, Davis founded Paws, Inc. In 2002, Garfield has become the most syndicated strip in the world, appearing in 2,570 newspapers with 263 million readers around the world, [1] By 2004, Garfield appeared in nearly 2600 newspapers and sold from $ 750 million to 1 billion worth of merchandise in 111 countries.
As it progressed, the strip underwent stylistic changes. The appearance of Garfield was probably the most important, he underwent a "Darwinian evolution", in which he walked on its hind legs, "slimmed down" and "stopped looking [...] through squinty little eyes." His evolution, according to Davis, was to make it easier to "push Odie off the table" or "reaching for a piece of cake." Jon has also undergone great changes, and still is today. Now, it seems older than 1990 strips, he is taller and has great features.
Davis is no longer the sole artist of Garfield. Although still writes stories and rough sketches, other artists handle the inking, coloring and lettering. Davis passes otherwise the majority of his time managing the business and merchandising of Garfield.

SNOOPY

Snoopy, whose fictional birthday has been established as October 2, made his first appearance in the strip of 4 October 1950, two days after the thumbnail strip. It 'was first identified by name on November 10. Schulz was originally going to call him "Sniffy" (as described in the 25 th anniversary book), until he discovered that the name was used in a different comic strip. This was changed to "Snoopy" after remembering that his late mother Dena Schulz had commented that if their family were ever to acquire a third dog, should be called Snoopy, a term of endearment in Norwegian (the actual term is "Snuppa" ).
In earlier strips it is not clear who Snoopy belongs, for example, in February 2, 1951 strip, Charlie Brown accuses Snoopy of following him, only to be told by Patty that Snoopy is not following Charlie Brown but lives only in the same direction strips. Indeed many early show Snoopy interacting with Shermy (which is shown in a first strip of Snoopy running with the lead) and Patty without Charlie Brown, Snoopy doing seem to belong to all the neighborhood kids, similar to the dog Pete in the Our Gang comedies, which is the dog of all. (Note: In this era, it was common for dogs to roam their territory and meet with local children, and then return to their respective homes). Later, Charlie Brown says that his parents bought Snoopy for him to Daisy Hill Puppy Farm, after another guy had dumped sand on him while playing in a sandbox.
Snoopy was a silent character for the first two years of its existence, but May 27, 1952 verbalized his thoughts to readers for the first time in a thought balloon, Schulz would use this device for nearly all the appearances of the character in the strip thereafter . At first, Snoopy has acted like a normal dog, and only think of simple sentences in a single word (like "FOOD!"), But then became more articulate.
Snoopy and the ability to "speak" his thoughts to the reader, many of the human characters in Peanuts have the uncanny ability to read his thoughts and respond to them. In the animated television specials and Peanuts, Snoopy's thoughts are not verbalized, his moods are instead conveyed through growls, sobs, laughter, monosyllabic phrases like "yuck", "hey", etc., as well as through pantomime. The only exceptions are in the animated adaptations of You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown and Snoopy! The Musical, in which Snoopy's thoughts are verbalized through voiceovers (by Robert Towers and Cam Clarke, respectively). Animation producer Bill Meléndez expressed both Snoopy and (eventually) Woodstock in numerous television specials 1965-2006. In Motion Comics Peanuts, Snoopy's thoughts appear on the screen as text bubbles of thought, without voice.
Strangely, the first time a beagle was mentioned in the strip (December 5, 1960), Snoopy denied being one. As Snoopy dozed, Charlie Brown paraphrased Gertrude Stein: "Beagles on the grass, alas." To this, Snoopy replied, "I'm not a stupid beagle!" (Years later, Snoopy would paraphrase the Stein expression himself. "Pigeons on the grass, alas, dogs on the ground, abound" (June 25, 1982)
As the series progressed, Snoopy has become a more human-like dog. His character is that of a dog who pretends to be a person (or sometimes forgets he is a dog). In a strip Peanuts, Sally had to do a report on animals for school, and asked the help of Snoopy. But Snoopy was reluctant. "How can I help you?" he thought. "I do not know the animals."
Many memorable moments from the Peanuts' Snoopy arrived in efforts as a novelist: his eternal opener on the typewriter "It was a dark and stormy night ..." is taken from Edward George Bulwer-Lytton's 1830 novel Paul Clifford. Almost all his remarks are rejected by potential publishers, who eventually resort to rude dismissals and cruel jokes to avoid being groped bothered by Snoopy. The contrast between Snoopy's existence in a dream world and Charlie Brown in the real world is central to the humor and philosophy of Peanuts (eg Peanuts book title Life is a dream, Charlie Brown). "It was a dark and stormy night" remains his most successful works.
Schulz summed up Snoopy character in an interview in 1997: ". Must retreat into his fantasy world to survive Otherwise, he leads a kind of boring, miserable life I do not envy dogs the lives they must live.

CONAN

The first complete edition in paperback, which compiled the current Howard and Howard stories together with the new non-Howard stories in chronological order, to form a complete picture of the life of Conan. Lancer Books went out of business before bringing out the whole series, the publication of which was completed by Ace Books. This version of the stories that Conan was introduced into popular culture. Its covers featured dynamic images by Frank Frazetta that, for many fans, has presented the impression "definitive" Conan and his world. For decades, most other portraits Cimmerian and his imitators were heavily influenced by the paintings of coverage of this series. [Citation needed]
Undertaken under the direction of De Camp and Carter, this edition includes all the original Howard, including that left unpublished in his lifetime and fragments and contours. De Camp and Carter kept much of the material and completed the stories that were not in finished form. New stories written entirely by themselves have been added as well. In the following list, volumes 6 and 11-12 do not contain any materials from Howard.
